    Senior Lecturer (Department of Human Movement Sciences)

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • A relevant Doctoral Degree
    • At least 3 years’ experience in higher education
    • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Ergonomics or human movement science
    • A record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer
    • Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters/Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer

    • Evidence of successful external fundraising for research.
    • Evidence of supporting early career academics.
    • Recognition in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating).
    • Evidence of networking and collaboration beyond one institution in research and/or teaching
    • Evidence of community engagement integrated with teaching, learning or research.

    Duties:

    • Participate in research, curriculum design, development, and implementation.
    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
    • Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of senior lecturer level.
    • Secure external research grants
    • Supervise postgraduate students.
    • Establish institutional, regional or national collaborations.
    • Contribute to mentorship of emergent academic staff.
    • Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research.
    • Participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels.
