    Supervisor Fraud Investigation

    Job Summary:

    The Supervisor Fraud Investigator is accountable for conducting internal and external investigations relating to operational policy and/or procedural breaches as well as participating in broader operational risk and related protection services activities.  The incumbent’s responsibilities include monitoring, detection and investigation of assigned governance and security threats to the mine.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or NQF L4 equivalent qualification
    • Have a Grade “A” certificate in security, registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
    • Fraud investigations certificate or diploma
    • 5-10 years’ experience as a fraud investigator in a specialised investigation unit, of which 5 years should have preferably been in the mining and/or corporate environment
    • Working knowledge of South African Police Services as well as the judicial process
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment

    • Highly experienced in conducting sensitive investigations
    • Advanced proficiency in data analytics
    • Advanced computer literacy, including use of case management software
    • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written reporting, including presentations
    • High personal ethical and discretionary standards   
    • Independent, proactive thinking and the ability to schedule and deliver work confidentially within tight deadlines
    • Ability to work autonomously and confidentially, using initiative and independent problem-solving skills

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in operational safety, health, environmental and risk management campaigns, audits, incident management and investigations
    • Participate in team performance enhancing coaching and capability development initiatives
    • Participate in daily operational performance engagement activities, root cause analysis and the development and execution of remediation activities
    • Participate in and maintain assigned Protection Services operational risk assessment and mitigation action plans to ensure the development and implementation of proactive and optimal protection services interventions and controls
    • Engage in assigned interrogation and assessment of protection services intelligence reports to identify operational threats and adequacy of controls
    • Participate in operational overt, covert and special project investigations ensuring the appropriate application of established case management principles
    • Maintain and monitor assigned operational administrative activities, governance and reporting
    • Apply operational policies, procedures, and systems to ensure consistency of delivery standards and compliance
    • Manage stakeholder relationships with key internal, Business Partner and external stakeholders by ensuring adherence to operational delivery, service level, commercial, community and ethical standards
