    Planning Manager - Pinelands

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Support the Planning team (including consultant planning partners) and in establishing and maintaining project schedules to ensure up-to-date data for efficient project management.
    • Provide specialised advice and expertise to enhance project planning and execution.
    • Adhere to project-specific and company procedures, maintaining consistency and high standards of work.
    • Foster collaboration across business units to streamline project processes and achieve objectives effectively.
    • Lead project schedule development and maintenance for effective management.
    • Ensure alignment of staff composition and skills with Projects & Studies requirements and the Company’s strategic plans. Offer specialised guidance to optimise project planning and execution.
    • Ensure adherence to project-specific and company procedures for consistent work excellence.
    • Facilitate auditing policies, procedures, standards, and plans to enhance service quality and professionalism.
    • Actively support the collaboration of internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes and achieve objectives efficiently.
    • Facilitate effective implementation and maintenance of project schedules and methods to improve operational efficiency and support business in continuous improvement.
    • Promote collaboration across departments to optimise processes and achieve objectives.
    • Travel as required to suit needs of the business.
    • Facilitate interactive planning (IAP) sessions with project teams to drive schedule framework development and project strategies that identify the various critical paths.
    • Management the planning team’s individual performance appraisals and prospective career paths.
    • Manage the resource loading of schedules to derive progress and related S-Curve graphs.
    • Develop and manage earned value management (EVM) reporting and dashboards.
    • Liaise with the cost control team and manage schedule change and documentation to support.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
    • +15 years postgraduate experience, 5+ in a similar position
    • Cape Town based.
    • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Mining projects experience in an EPCM role
    • Knowledge in 4D planning is advantageous.
    • Must be able to run multiple projects and manage team.
    • Must be able to understand typical technical documents such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, GA drawings, etc.
    • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
    • Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
    • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors and co-workers.
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to produce accurate and professional complex, technical documentation.
    • Proven ability to produce sound finance, project and technical reports.

    Cost Controller / Cost Engineer - Pinelands

    The tasks you'll perform

    • Develop and maintain project cost control specific procedures, work practices, plans, systems and protocols to enable efficient work and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
    • Efficient ongoing maintenance of the project cost control system.
    • Real-time and timely preparation of project cost and progress reports.
    • Timely and accurate reporting of control budgets, forecasts and cost commitments.
    • Make certain that clients and internal customers are given the highest level of service, making the most efficient use of company resources.
    • Ensure the quality of output of the allocated cost control teams, and that they are aligned with the needs of the project / study, the company objectives and meets the requirements of the client.
    • Establish the requirements for each project with regards to scope of services, organisation, job specific procedures and cost reporting requirements, with the Project Management Team.
    • Provide support and input to proposals, presentations and other business development activities as required.
    • Prepare budgets for proposals as required.
    • Set up Cost Reports for projects and ensure that they are kept up-to-date/live.
    • Support the client invoicing process – ensure invoices are generated, reviewed and sent to clients timeously, follow up on payment.
    • Maintain relevant income and expenditure records for each project.
    • Analyse project expenses and provide reporting and commentary.
    • Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
    • Review account totals related to project assets and expenses.
    • Investigate project variances and assist with resolution of variances where applicable.
    • Provide accurate, regular reports to Project Management / Management regarding project budgets and finances.
    • Investigate and report on expenses which are not billed to clients; with recommendations on write-offs and/or recovery of expenses.
    • Supervise the close out of project accounts upon project completion.
    • Maintain accurate accounts and ledgers in accordance with Finance best practice and processes.
    • Participate in and assist with audits.

    The expertise you'll bring

    • Relevant Tertiary-level qualification, preferably in Cost Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
    • Proven experience in project control. 
    • Up to 5 years in a similar role
    • Cape Town based.
    • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.

    Accounts Clerk - Pinelands

    The tasks you'll perform (not limited to):

    • Ensuring that processing on the company’s ERP system is accurately and timeously.
    • Load new creditors and debtors on the ERP system
    • Assist with the completion and vetting of debtor and creditor applications
    • Liaise with internal teams to ensure authorised documentation received for processing.
    • Reconcile General Ledger to appropriate supporting documentation or records.
    • Interact with relevant external stakeholders to ensure that all supporting documentation is received on time and complies with relevant regulatory authorities.
    • Process intercompany invoices and accruals
    • Preparing requisitions for payments.
    • Assist in month-end procedures.
    • Provide monthly creditors and debtors age analysis for review.
    • Ensure all queries are continuously resolved with stakeholders.
    • Processing and reconciling of Cashbooks.
    • Adhoc duties as and when assigned

     The expertise you'll bring

    • Matric (with Accounting and/or Mathematics)
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
    • Cape Town based
    • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel is essential.
    • Working knowledge of the SAP system advantageous.
    • Foreign Currency exposure advantageous.
    • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables.
    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, efficiently and collaboratively in a team and knowledge sharing environment, with colleagues across all business units.
