    Senior Account Manager

    Job description

    Salary: 2527k CTC

    Experience: At least 5 years Ad agency experience and/or relevant Marketing experience

    Job Level: MidSenior

    Reports to Managing Director

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • People management & Leadership:
      • Leading a team to provide the utmost level of customer service.
      • Setting up goals and objectives for all subordinate staff.
      • Conduct performance evaluation using key metrics.
      • Providing feedback and counsel to account staff to meet quotas/objectives.
      • Able to lead and inspire their team, the wider agency, clients, and other external partners.
      • Unafraid to take charge when necessary, be decisive and then build support for those decisions.
      • Focused on the personal and professional development of their team to optimise their combined performance, understanding when to give praise, motivational feedback and constructive criticism, but also know when to ‘be the boss’.
      • Working with various departments to interrogate client briefs, by challenging and asking questions, to develop communication briefs that meet business needs in an effective and accountable way. This is done in collaboration with the Strategists to ensure integrated work is delivered for the client.
      • Leading and inspiring those outside of the core team, including creative teams and those in other business entities working on the same account.
    • Client relationship:
      • Resolve issues to maintain and strengthen customer trust.
      • Ensure timely delivery of services and products to clients.
      • Understand customer requirements and needs to offer suitable solutions and generate new business.
      • Liaising with clients at a senior level on a daytoday basis.
      • Taking a lead in clients’ marketing and advertising strategies.
      • Demonstrable experience in negotiation and meeting client requirements.
      • Promoting the expansion of business with existing clients.
    • Operation management:
      • Reporting key financial and team data to the agency’s senior leadership.
      • Maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industry.
    • Financial management:
      • Maximize all business opportunities within existing clients with new projects and increase the profit margin.
      • Ensure the team are following all company procedures in relation to negotiating costs with suppliers.
      • Monitor relevant accounts’ profitability, and flagging up overservicing or other financial risks, and planning on how to manage these situations.
      • Overseeing management of campaign budgets to deadline

    Skills and attributes:

    • Minimum, nonnegotiable requirements include but are not limited to:
    • Knowledgeable and passionate about the company;s clients, and where and how advertising contributes to its success.
    • Proficient in evaluating creative work; able to give and receive feedback to support its development.
    • Take responsibility and accountability for your own and others’ work.
    • Delegating effectively to balance a varied and demanding workload, and recognises that the team that works well can achieve much more than any individual.
    • A working knowledge of Production
    • Practical working knowledge of CHASE
    • Able to meet tight deadlines and work in a pressurised environment
    • Ability to think creatively and outofthebox
    • Superb interpersonal skills coupled with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • Very strong attention to detail
    • Proficiency with numbers, budget and time management
    • Great written and oral communication skills (English and Afrikaans)
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Process and system driven
    • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
    • Willing to work outside normal working hours
