Key focus of the role:

This role is responsible for delivery of a variety of IT solution delivery services to support business objectives and is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to a year. The IT Manager’s business portfolio is smaller than that of a Senior IT Manager. The individual will be part of OMEM CST Solution Delivery within the Testing area. Collaborates with business stakeholders and IT interfaces, to plan testing activities for solutions that are synergistic to the platform.
Ensure integrity of quality metric systems.

• Responsible for the financial management of the area, including budget setting and expense and income monitoring.

• Oversees the functional unit and is accountable for the efficient operation of the area.
• Provides thought leadership (operational and tactical focus) for IT resources.

• Responsible for planning, execution and reporting of applications/project quality matrix to BAU or SAT.
• Responsible for Test Environment management in the assigned area of responsibility.

• Manages the relationship between service providers and Old Mutual, including negotiations, contracts, service and support (SLAs).

Specific Key Result Areas:

• Size of business portfolio is smaller than that of a Senior IT Manager.
• Provides thought leadership (operational and tactical focus) in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for managing one to many testing projects with multiple teams.
• Responsible for infrastructure management in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for implementation and improves testing methodologies and techniques.
• Defines the scope and plan, and monitors the successful execution of test activities against the Test plan.
• Effectively analyses, interprets and reviews business requirements for data/environments in order to draft effective test requirements.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the concepts of configuration management in order to effectively engage with the Configuration Management Team.
• Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of architecture to effectively map the test approach to the proposed solution.
• Demonstrates a detailed understanding of coding principles in order to comfortably communicate with programmers when designing test scripts and measures adherence to coding standards.
• Manages CRM in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for IT Contracts Management.
• Responsible for clear and effective communication to team and business.
• Provides technical consulting services where required.
• Accountable for financial management in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Manages Testing Projects.
• Responsible for people management - includes talent management, change leadership.
• Aligns technology to business needs.
• Raising the maturity of the Service Catalogue Management area.
• Managing the non-standard service request area.
• Managing the operational readiness and implementation of New IT services.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing a must.
• Advance Test Manager Certification advantageous.
• 2-6 years of previous test management experience of large projects, (Solid understanding of test management principles a must).
• Knowledge and understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
