Key focus of the role

• This role is responsible for the delivery of IT Architectural Services to support business objectives, and is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to a year. The IT Manager's business portfolio is smaller than that of a Senior IT Manager. The successful candidate will form part of Global Edge Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
• The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the Architecture Practice within Global Edge Technologies.
• He/she will have to collaborate with business stakeholders and IT interfaces, to creating solutions that are synergistic to the platform. The incumbent will also apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement productivity, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies for their client.

Specific KRA’s

• Oversees the functional unit and is accountable for the efficient operation of the IT Architecture Practice in GET.
• Accountable for the definition of, and adherence to development standards and practices.
• Responsible for the definition, maintenance and adherence to appropriate governance and risk management practices within the scope of the IT Architecture Practice in alignment with the wider Global Edge governance and risk practices.
• Perform ad hoc reviews of Architecture work checking for adherence to process and quality standards. Focus on processes designed to increase quality and reduce risk to the Production environment.
• Provides thought leadership (operational and tactical focus) in area of responsibility.
• Manages CRM in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for change management around IT Implementations and upgrades.
• Responsible for clear and effective communication to team and business.
• Provides technical consulting services where required.
• Accountable for financial management in area of responsibility.
• Manages smaller Projects from time to time.
• Responsible for people management – includes talent management, change leadership.
• Ensures continuous service.

• Responsible for aligning technology and technology support to business needs.

Role Requirements

• Matric, plus relevant 3 year degree/diploma qualification.
• 5 – 7 years relevant IT work experience.
• Must have 3-5 years management experience in an IT Application Development environment.
• Must have SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) knowledge and experience.
• Experience in Microsoft Technology Development stack.
• Experience of working in both Agile and Waterfall environments would be beneficial.
• An understanding of digital best practice, wider industry knowledge and technological advancements.
• Knowledge of C#, SQL Server, ASP.net, MVC, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server.
• Knowledge of Siebel technology would be beneficial.
• Experience implementing and using a Secure Development Life Cycle would be beneficial.
• Must have working experience in an IT Architect in an IT Application Development environment.
• Strong management and analytical skills.
• Must have working knowledge of Financial Management.
• Must have working knowledge of Project Management.
