Sales Engineer - South Africa at Genetec

Job description

Genetec is looking for a Sales Engineer to be based in South Africa. He/She will work closely with the Genetec sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and propose solutions involving Genetec’s products. The Sales Engineer will also be involved in the proposal process and be responsible for all of the technical aspects of the sale during the entire sales cycle, including post sale.

Presentations and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Define product and functional requirements based on customer and partner requirements
• Analyze customers’ requirements and provide proper solutions
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations
• Support sales team in responding to RFPs
• Create white papers and application notes on Genetec’s software solutions
• Support the Sales Managers and participate in the development of new customers
• Work with Technical Support and Training teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales implementation environment
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions and seminars
• Develop and maintain strong and long-term relationships with customers and partners
• Manage, maintain and Update the Genetec Security Center Demonstration Platform
• Conduct System Design Trainings for our System Integrators, partners, customers and consultants
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 5-7 years experience in Sales & Technical experience in CCTV and Access Control Systems
• Ability to collaborate with multiple groups toward accomplishing a task
• Proven track record of selling services as part of a solution
• Enthusiastic, self-starter with a charismatic personality
• Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
• Proactive, energetic, self-motivated and result-oriented
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Good command of written and spoken in English

Technical Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of Windows 8/Server 2012/2014 and SQL Server 2012/2014
• Excellent knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
• Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting with the Windows operating system
• Experience with networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (switches, routers, firewalls etc)
• Experience with VMWare Workstation 11.x and Vsphere ESxi 6.x
• Experience with RAID configurations and storage mediums such as NAS, SAN, etc.
