    Corporate Credit Manager

    Job Description

    Job Purpose Summary

    Drive maximum collections ensuring that the company cash flow is at healthy levels and working capital is reduced. Minimize company exposure to customers by enforcing sound credit management principles. Manage a department that plays an integral role within the entire Order to Cash process while also reducing overdues and minimize bad debts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • People leadership, management & development Manages the Corporate Credit Team, plans successions & optimizes capabilities.
    • Negotiates agreements on a variety of levels (seniority & Value) with major & minor customers, and ensures proper implementation of such agreements
    • Controls the application of credit offered by the company to stimulate its trading operations while ensuring the recording of goods supplied, the rendering of accounts, the prompt collection of money due to the company and the adherence to company credit and discount facilities
    • Determines and develops company policies relevant to the granting and controlling of credit limits and terms, and proper application thereof throughout the company
    • Formulates and specifies all procedures relative to the Accounts Receivable and invoicing areas of the business. Provides the necessary guidance for correct development of these applications and offers the necessary staff training in these systems and the disciplines related thereof.
    • Takes responsibility for proper performance of the entire debtors admin, policy, procedures, functions, etc
    • Maintains contact & provides input in GD/CS area, particularly with regard to problem areas such as TAP, Pricing, etc. Provides suggested solutions
    • Liaises with GD/CS Admin on customer-related matters & systems
    • Consults regularly with customers, attorneys and Trade Associations to achieve most beneficial settlement of outstanding balances, whilst minimizing bad debts
    • Attends to Departmental training needs through consultation with staff, personnel Department and outside agencies, as applicable
    • Communicates with other business areas regarding credit control matters – Internal & external

    Key Requirements

    • BCom Finance Degree with 3 years in FMCG Industry
    • A minimum of 3 years in similar role

    • Continuous updating of knowledge within credit management.
