    Marketing Specialist

    Job description

    As our go-to-market lead you will have the opportunity to shape and drive marketing execution excellence across the continent and play a pivotal role in positioning SES for success in a highly competitive environment. This is a high impact role is perfectly suited for a passionate marketer who understands and is excited by the opportunity to position a global company to be locally relevant.

The Marketing Specialist role therefore is best suited to a true people person who is energised by diversity of culture, language and background and projects. He/she is also skilled at motivating stakeholders to deliver their very best work.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

    • Participate in the development of a go-to-market plan that best positions SES to succeed in a highly competitive market
    • Coach agency partners to continually stretch themselves to deliver the very best work possible
    • With the support of agency partners, create and manage an online and social media presence that generates leads aligned to business objectives
    • With the support of agency partners, create and manage a rich content and editorial calendar that encourages a qualified audience to engage with our owned properties (including blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.)
    • With the support of agency partners, identify and qualify new leads aligned to our business objectives
    • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database
    • Provide local direction and support of Public Relations initiatives driven by the SES Global PR team
    • Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives to report on ROI

    COMPETENCIES

    • The ability to work independently and across teams
    • Proven ability to work successfully and collegially in a multi-cultural environment
    • The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • University degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with a multinational company in a marketing role in the broadcast or telecommunications industry
    • Experience of marketing planning, budgeting and implementation
    • A track record of managing projects with multiple stakeholders to a successful outcome
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. A similar capability in French is strongly desirable
    • Experience in managing, forecasting and reporting on marketing budgets, as well as technical aspects of key marketing systems (marketing automation, CRM) used to generate, distribute, and report on leads
    • Experience in Project Management

    • Comfortable with frequent travel into Africa
