    Finance Assistant (SAIPA or CIMA)

    Job description

    General:

    The primary focus will be on providing support to the current finance structures. In this role you will work closely with the CFO to administer daily and monthly financial tasks. Secondary tasks will include certain HR onboarding functions, office management and assistance to the

You are self driven and motivated, capable of time management and enjoy working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You do not like the sound of working for a big corporate or having a cushy office job. You can think analytically and want to continuously improve existing processes and systems.

    What you need:

    • A BComm university degree with accounting subjects or similar accounting experience
    • Subscription to a professional body such as SAIPA or CIMA
    • Proficiency in programs like Microsoft Excel
    • Confidence to negotiate with suppliers
    • The willingness to learn and improve your skills
    • Ambition to take on more responsibility as you gain more experience

    What you’ll do:

     

    • Finance:
      • Collation and processing of daily payments
      • Cashbook reconciliations
      • Monitoring and management of Business debit cards
      • Recon of expenses passed through cashbooks and collation of supporting audit documents
      • Creditor reconciliations and payments
    • Inventory Management
      • Fixed Asset tracking and Management
      • Customer Invoice generation in line with Commercial Agreements
      • Independent Contractor agreements drafting and signature admin
      • Procurement of new fixed assets especially computer equipment for new team members
      • General negotiation with suppliers on pricing and rates together with Finance Officer
      • Budgeting and assistance with board pack preparation
    • HR Responsibilities
      • Criminal Credit checks
      • Slack access for new and terminated employees
      • Gmail administration for new and terminated employees
      • Journey accounts for new and terminated independent contractors
      • Business Debit card administration
      • General employee off-loading
    • Office Admin Responsibilities
      • Liaising with leasing agent and landlord regarding office repairs
      • Liaising with general contractors for repairs and maintenance of assets
      • Team lunch office snacks ordering
      • Printing Stationery level monitoring and ordering
    • CEO Assistance
      • Diary management and support when required
      • Travel bookings and logistics
