Duties and Responsibilities

• Design software solutions using object-oriented design processes
• Assist with design and maintenance of electronic sub-systems
• Carefully document all code and ensure the regular archival of code using CapeRay’s subversion (SVN) system
• Software engineering good practice and discipline, including application of the IEC 62304 standard throughout the software development lifecycle
• Write both high level and embedded code for the Mac OSX and iOS operating systems, using Python, C, Objective-C and the XCode IDE
• Write software to provide graphical and text-based interfaces for the software components (control and diagnostic) of the Aceso dual-modality imaging system
• Develop ad hoc tools for research platforms and embedded code for the Mac OSX and iOS operating systems

Recommended Experience

• 2 + years of experience in writing both high level and embedded code
• Knowledge of and experience in writing object-orientated code, specifically Python, C++, and Objective-C
• Documentation of professional commercial-quality code using subversion (SVN) source code control
• Practical knowledge and experience of image processing algorithms
• Knowledge of Apple technology, particularly OSX and iOS platforms, would be an advantage
• Electronics design experience advantageous

Qualifications and Requirements

• BSc (Eng) in Computer or Electronic Engineering or BSc (Hons) in Computer Science
• Must have an aptitude for a research and development environment
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers
• Ability to complete tasks on time according to a project plan
• Excellent problem solving skills and analytical ability
• Candidate must be enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated
