The position calls for a sales engineer with a tertiary qualification in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or similar to market products for an international company with head office in Singapore and manufacturing plant in the USA. Incumbent will be based in Centurion, South Africa.
The products are sold to metallurgical processing plants in all mining commodities from coal to uranium and the incumbent will need to deal with all levels of management from metallurgists, engineers to plant managers, CEO’s and company directors. Clients will include mining houses and engineering firms.
At least five years similar sales experience is required, processing experience in coal, iron ore, gold, platinum and chrome will be a benefit. Intimate knowledge of comminution circuits, particularly milling circuits will be a major benefit.
The incumbent must be able to travel fairly extensively throughout Africa with occasional trips to the USA, Southeast Asia, etc.
Own vehicle and valid driving license is essential and the following attributes will enhance any application:
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Good market knowledge
- Good technical and sales background of various mining equipment
- An existing customer network would be beneficial
- Computer literacy is essential
Salary and benefits will be market related depending on seniority of the applicant.
Ideal candidate will be between 35 and 45 years of age with 5 to 10 years operational experience, suitable qualification and proven equipment sales experience.
