    Sales Executive & Key Account Manager, Fuel Management Systems

    Job description

    Location: Century City, Cape Town

    Reporting to: Global Sales Director (UK based), dotted line for KAM purposes to National Account Manager (Johannesburg based)

    The Sales Executive plays a crucial role in the wider sales team, generating leads, responding to sales enquiries, and managing the sales process throughout the entire sales cycle. The Sales Executive contributes directly to the overall success of OTI PetroSmart by reaching and exceeding defined revenue targets.

    The Sales Executive will also act as a Key Account Manager (KAM), developing long-term relationships with key customers in order to ensure the long-term success of our business relationships.

    Responsibilities:

    • Passionate and results driven, the Sales Executive will be responsible for a defined revenue target which should be met on a quarterly basis.
    • The Sales Executive will achieve their goals by fully understanding the company’s product and solutions value proposition and showing the ability to communicate that to customers by way of presentations and equipment demonstrations.
    • Generating significant levels of new sales leads, the Sales Executive will show a proactive and dynamic approach to lead generation resulting in tangible customer meetings.
    • The Sales Executive will actively seek out new sales opportunities through a range of techniques including but not limited to cold calling, email campaigns, networking, social media, and through conducting informal market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
    • The Sales Executive will be responsible for gathering customer requirements, both operational and technical, in order to build and deliver complex sales quotations.
    • Using the nominated CRM system regularly, the Sales Executive will build and maintain an ongoing record of customer engagement activity.
    • The Sales Executive will also be responsible for developing long-term relationships with assigned KAM clients, liaising between clients and internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to our customers’ needs.
    • The Sales Executive will play an integral role in new business pitches (upselling) to KAM clients, and will hold responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients.

    Skills & Requirements:

    • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Sales and Account Management functions.
    • Experience in high-tech companies or similar technology focussed sales roles.
    • Knowledge of commercial fuel management and/or retail fuel automation environments preferred but not essential.
    • Pertinent tertiary qualifications will be considered but are not essential.
    • Strong business acumen and customer influencing skills.
    • Self-motivated, even when working alone, with a results-driven approach and passion for sales.
    • Professional, clear and concise presentation and demonstration skills.
    • An immediate aptitude for clear and concise reporting of ongoing sales and account management activities.
    • Ability to proactively manage own travel and customer meeting schedule.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time whilst paying strict attention to detail.
    • Excellent administrative computer skills (e.g. Excel).
    • Willingness to travel frequently in South Africa and Africa.
    • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport required.
    • English language skills to a high level are essential. Any of Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu desirable.
