    Specialist Financial Accountant

    Job description

    Job Purpose:

    To perform financial analysis and provide financial accounting services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct research and collate data to serve as input to operational reporting and decision making related to area of specialisation.
    • Provide specialist input through the investigation of opportunities for operational and process optimisation.
    • Plan for value-added process improvements, initiatives and services to deliver on operational strategy and objectives.
    • Draw on own technical or professional knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions to improve process service delivery and quality.
    • Understand and apply existing best practice frameworks to assist in the implementation of identified subject matter processes and standards.
    • Analyse operational records, trends and costs related to estimated and realised revenues to project future revenues and expenses.
    • Source, collate, analyse and interpret financial information in order to support the review of the financial performance of the business.
    • Contribute to and assist in the effective execution of internal and external audits, financial statement generation and regulatory submissions.
    • Ensure accurate reconciliation of financial transaction records to supporting documentation to enable verification of the validity of transactions.
    • Build relationships and interact positively with clients and act as ambassador of the organisational brand.
    • Provide sound consulting services and recommendations based on customer and client needs, current information and trends analyses.
    • Monitor and enforce effective financial control, governance and compliance throughout area of specialisation.
    • Forecast financial risks and escalate as required.
    • Participate in specialist communities of practice and contribute positively to own and organisational knowledge improvement.
    • Implement and provide input into the development of governance, compliance, integrity and ethics processes within area of specialisation.
    • Ensure that established accounting standards, procedures and processes are adhered to, in compliance with legislative regulations.

    Qualification:

    CA(SA) 

    Experience:

    2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 1 -2 years at a junior specialist level.
