    Quality Manager

    Job description

    Description

    The Quality Manager ensures that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for managing the organizations quality assurance policies and Quality systems. The Quality Manager will also establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company operations. In this role the Quality Manager also assumes full accountability for Analytical and Microbiological laboratories.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Deliver Quality Assurance Operational Objectives By
      • Contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews
      • Preparing and completing action plans
      • Implementing production , productivity, quality and customer service standards
      • Identifying and resolving problems, completing audits
      • Determining system improvements
    • Implementing change
      • Develop and agree 4 year rolling quality and food safety contract with the manufacturing team
      • Management Of Systems, Processes And Incidents
      • Ensure adherence to Quality standards, procedures and legislation
      • Monitor compliance to and report non-conformance or internal and external quality management systems
      • Manage the implementation, review, updating and maintenance of relevant quality management systems.
      • Manage all food safety incidents by providing technical advice and support to factory, as well as manage relevant stakeholder communication and involvement.
      • Validates quality processes by:
      • Establishing product specifications and quality attributes
    • Measuring production
      • Documenting evidence
      • Determining operational and performance qualification
      • Writing and updating quality assurance procedures
    • Cost Management
      • Develop & control a departmental budget
      • Approve and manage costs
      • Contractor And Supplier Management
      • Approve contracts with suppliers (internal and external)
      • Coordinate and control the evaluation and selection of suppliers and contractors.
      • Audit suppliers and contractors
      • Site Laboratories
      • Accountable for the overall performance and management of the analytical and microbiological laboratories
    • Management Of People
      • Defines and drives the departmental vision
      • Design and manages the departmental manpower requirements
      • Coaching, create an environment to encourage and facilitate personal en professional development.
      • Actively promotes and manages individual and team development
      • Manages team and individual performance by:
      • Initiating and assisting with development / changes to job output models
      • Conducting formal performance reviews
      • Conducting and facilitating team meetings
      • Monthly Quality Reports As Required By The Organization
      • The individual will prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
    • Audits
      • Develop, review and update quality policies and procedures
      • Ensure communication of Quality procedures to the plant
      • Conducts 3rd party audits and makes recommendations. Ensures 3rd party compliance to Mondelez standards
      • Maintains and improve product quality by:
      • Completing product, company, system, compliance and surveillance audits
      • Investigating customer complaints
      • Collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs as well as manufacturing and training methods.
      • Implementation of strategies and plans

    Qualifications

    • In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that the ideal candidate will have:
    • Qualification in quality related field
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in field of quality in a FMCG Food Manufacturing facility
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience at managerial level
