Job Description

• Principle accountability is with his/ her team, to drive initiatives around improving business operations activities, in the areas of efficiency, Safety, Quality and Environmental improvements for the Mill.
• Analyses production processes and provides recommendations for improvement.
• Drives approval of the recommendations and prioritization of the resulting initiatives.
• Develops and implements new techniques and approaches in operations using a global perspective.
• Initiates and participates in strategic discussions.
• Represents Operations in strategic initiatives, providing the necessary input and analytics around business intelligence.
• Develop and implement best practice management, Drive Optimisation Practices across the entire facility, by driving behavioural change across the facility that embraces Continuous
• Improvement Principles.
• Create an environment of continuous improvement through empowerment, education and training.
• Develop a sense of belonging by creating a workplace that encourages high involvement and maximises the capabilities of team and individuals.
• Focus on identifying potential leaders through KC Culture demonstration: 6 main behaviours in our culture: win consistently, continuously improve, build trust, build talent, make decisions, think customer. 4 values, which are; caring, accountability, innovation, authentic.
• Ensure compliance with the expenditure budget allocated.
• Energy and environment: develop and execute continuous improvement programs linked to consumption and specific prices. Manage and monitor compliance with Corporate Best
• Practices.
• Develop and organize management systems under ISO 14000 and V2025 concepts.
• Is the Operations link with Local and Regional P&TD teams, in terms of Changes in Spec, machine trials and new product launches.
• To build a close partnership with the centre of excellence functions within KC, related to Change Initiatives agenda.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of a BSc. in Chemical Engineering and relevant experience in a process engineering role.
• Knowledge of operational facilities and the ability to apply sound technical knowledge in decision making.
• Experience in the Pulp and Paper fields would be an advantage.
• Candidate must display leadership, effective decision making, change management and business acumen skills.
