    Warehouse Manager

    Job description

    An opportunity has arisen to join Sodexo, a leading global Facilities Management business. In South Africa Sodexo develops, manages and delivers a range of services for clients in the corporate, healthcare, education, and energy and resources sectors.     We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Junior Warehouse Supervisor, in East Rand area, to support our operations in South Africa where we provide Integrated Facilities Management services.

    Reporting to the Facilities Site Manager, your mission will be to support the Warehouse functions and assisting in the daily facilities services within the project. The role of the Warehouse manager is to assist the Facilities Site Manager in all administrative processes, internal communications etc.

    We are looking for an effective Warehouse Manager to direct receiving warehousing and distribu-tion operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of functions. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly, including:

    • Managing warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
    • Documenting all work order request.
    • Overseeing receiving, warehousing, distribution and limited maintenance operations.
    • Setting up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
    • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that a copy of the SLA and SOP`s and requirements are available and refer to the same to ensure compliance with the service provisions and scope of work, regarding material handling, and shipping requirements legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising site management on needed actions.
    • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security proce-dures and protocols.
    • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing safe working conditions.
    • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
    • Orientating shift workers, and training employees by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.
    • Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies, if need be.
    • Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
    • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.

    Candidate Profile:

    • Grade 12 and applicable warehouse management Certification/ Diploma.
    • Proven three (3) years’ experience in Warehouse industry.
    • Proven work experience in warehousing and warehouse labour.
    • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
    • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.
    • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Experience in the administration of inventories.
    • Experience in generating reports or data capturing.
    • Good organizational skills.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, ability to work under pressure.
    • Good knowledge of standard software tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
    • Flexible, adaptable to changes but with strong focus on deadlines.
    • Be sensitive and understanding towards cultural diversities.
    • Ability to learn and acquire new skills and ideas.
    • Must be well spoken (clear & understandable) and fluent in English.
    • Must be able to communicate with clients (written & oral).
    • Own transport.
