    Product Manager - SSA

    Job description

    • Set up of yearly promotional calendar in conjunction with marketing manager, align programs to new launches.
    • Plan & implement promotional programs/ special events in conjunction with marketing manager, in line with sales plan & marketing objectives.
    • Develop and conceptualise new promotional/special offers and proposed sell-in units relevant to each retailer.
    • Control, coordinate and monitor P&L on any program within budgets
    • Ensure promotional and collateral allocations are communicated to sales, education, and distribution partners
    • Review market and competitive trends and provide feedback.
    • Prepare & Analyse data relevant to promotional activity and implement programs to maintain category % and to grow market share.
    • Work in conjunction with the Marketing Manager on advertising requirements, ensuring schedules and material deadlines are adhered to and met
    • In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, set price guidelines for the offers in relation to the competition & in line with required COG targets.
    • Analyse, update weekly/monthly sell through reports, category reports and provide corrective action/ feedback.
    • Liaise with planning departments to establish flow of stock, offer codes, barcodes and establish pack off schedule
    • Follow through and monitor shipping status in conjunction with forecasting department on all programs and take corrective measures
    • Monitor expenses monthly to ensure they stay within brand objective and budgets
    • Identify opportunities utilizing new creative approaches, external suppliers to seek market growth.
    • Review obsolescence monthly and set action plans to reduce excess / obsolete inventory within budget levels.
    • Conduct annual promotional range review and provide recommendations for pricing, rationalisation and range enhancement.
    • Ensure correct pricing rules, codes and systems are loaded correctly 3 months prior to OCD
    • Ensure all elements for special events/ promotional activity is secured 3 months in advance, and co-ordinate deliverables and setups to meet OCD
    • Prepare monthly briefs for Sales and Education teams on all related promotions, advertising support and execution plans
    • Ensure on counter dates are met to execute with excellence and that all projects are seen through to completion
    • Ensure communication of order numbers are sent to sales team two weeks prior to promotion
    • Maintain and manage P&L statements and control of expenditure
    • Collectively with the Marketing Manager ensure all programs and launches are aligned to effectively execute the marketing objectives

    Requirements And Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Marketing Degree/ Diploma
    • Full, unrestricted Driver’s license
    • 3-5 years’ experience in category/ brand/ product management
    • Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
