    Finance Manager

    About the job
    Role overview:

    • The Financial Manager is based in Wellington in the Western Cape and responsible for the overall financial reporting results and the effective functioning of the finance department of the Production, Brand Homes, Farming and Properties, International (including foreign entities DGB Botswana, DGB Europe, DGC USA) Divisions and Group Costing, relating to all related goals and objectives.


    Responsibilities of the role:

    • Overseeing all full financial reporting, analysis and compliance of the above mentioned divisions.
    • Prepare the audit working papers, reconciliations, financial statements and taxation for the completion of the annual financial results and audits, in conjunction with the appointed external Auditors.
    • Monitor and report of cash flow, working capital, inventory, operating and CAPEX
    • Consolidate and create necessary management reports, with analysis and variance reporting on trial balances, general ledger, debtors, creditors, fixed assets and inventory
    • In consultation with relevant department heads, prepare annual and quarterly budgets and quarterly profit forecasts to ensure budget is reasonable and accurate
    • Oversee Creditors and International Debtors function, in relation to contracts, payments and other agreed terms
    • Manage costing department and annual costing cycle and variance analysis
    • International pricing and master data maintenance
    • Responsible for customs excise process management
    • Organise and coordinate monthly and annual stock takes
    • Forex management (payments, receipts)
    • Maintain cooperative and production relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients, Brand Owners, Investors, Local Authorities, Professional Associations and the Community
    • Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established legal requirements
    • Taking remedial action where necessary business performance objectives are not met
    • Translating the company strategic plans to defined operational plans
    • Participation in key projects to benefit overall business
    • Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the Financial Director, ensuring ongoing alignment of performance and expectation
    • Revise and/or formulate relevant policies and promote their implementation
    • Manage, train and develop a team of people in support of the finance function

    Qualifications:

    • CA (SA)

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years financial experience, within the FMCG sector, preferably in the liquor industry
    • Proven track record of financial leadership and performance
