Role Description

Looking for an experienced and qualified Lead Developer to grow and manage in-house development capabilities and the underlying technology infrastructure as the company scales. Immediate challenges involve completing back-end functionality, designing and implementing a customer facing front end, and implementing more advanced machine learning clustering models. Key responsibilities will include ensuring a constant flow of new features, smooth client service delivery and maintaining data integrity. The salary offer is market related depending on experience and comes with an employee stock option programme. Other perks include flexible hours, flexible leave, remote working and quarterly bonuses.

Salary

R60,000 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Manage in-house development and the underlying technology infrastructure
• Complete back-end functionality
• Design and implement a customer-facing front end
• Implement more advanced machine learning clustering models
• Ensure a constant follow of new features and smooth client service delivery
• Maintain data integrity
• Proactively lead the technical team incl. hiring and onboarding

Requirements

• Honours level or higher education in computer science/engineering or related
• 5+ years’ experience as a lead developer
• Experience in deploying systems with heavy security and scalability requirements
• Proven skills in hiring and managing members of a technical team
• Well rounded “full-stack” software engineering capabilities
• Current tech stack: Python, Django, React, Postgres, AWS, Elastic Beanstalk
• Strong database administration knowledge
• Proven project management and administration skills
• Experience with event driven systems (preferable)
• Experience with building models using machine learning (preferable)
