SANTS is an accredited Private Higher Education Institution focused on distance initial and continued professional teacher education. SANTS seeks to appoint suitable candidates in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) and BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching); specifically in the African languages in the following positions:

• Lecturer: Sepedi in the BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching) programme
• Lecturer: isiZulu in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme
• Lecturer: Setswana in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme OR BEd (Intermediate Phase Teaching) programme

Working in the Academic Department, successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Working under the leadership of an Academic Head in field-specific modules.
• Working in an online environment.
• Working collaboratively with other lecturers.
• Material development and review.
• Student assessment development and implementation.
• Student support material development.
• Contribute to internal and external moderation processes.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance processes.
• Contribute to research processes.

Qualification minimum requirements:

• BEd degree in Foundation Phase OR Intermediate Phase with isiZulu OR Sepedi OR Setswana as school subjects.
• BA with isiZulu OR Sepedi OR Setswana as subjects/modules.
• Post Graduate Certificate (PGCE) in Foundation Phase OR Intermediate Phase with isiZulu OR Sepedi OR Setswana as school subjects.
• Honours degree in Education.
• At least two years of Higher Education experience.
• At least two years of classroom experiences
• Registration with SACE.

Competencies:

• Excellent communication skills including report writing and ITC skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team; under pressure; meet deadlines as well as work independently. Specialisation in Education Studies and Mathematics will be an advantage.
