    Mentoring Coordinator

    The opportunity

    Project Thrive is a tech mentoring programme run by OfferZen’s not-for-profit, OfferZen Foundation. The programme connects senior software developers with junior software developers for a structured 1:1 mentoring programme that runs for 12 weeks. We launch a new cohort of pairs each month and provide training as well as a framework to help them make the most of their mentoring relationship. 

    As a Mentoring Coordinator, your role will be to ensure that mentoring pairs - approximately 50 at any given time - get the most out of their mentoring journey.

    This is a junior role and you will be reporting directly to the Thrive Programme Manager. 

    What you will be responsible for:

    • Sourcing, managing and screening all of the applicants for the Thrive programme

    • Successful matching between mentor and mentee

    • Successfully onboard the monthly cohort with virtual training (after hours) to set them up to win as they begin the programme

    • Ensuring mentors and mentees are equipped to deal with challenges that may arise in their mentoring relationship 

    • Ensuring maximal attendance at weekly mentoring sessions and retention throughout the programme.

    • Ensuring we can easily track all data about mentoring pairs, their participation in the programme as well as their feedback

    What would make you a good fit?

    • A university degree - or a good reason you decided not to pursue

    • 1+ years of work experience in a fast-paced/ start-up environment in a coordination or operational role

    • Advantageous to know how to use Excel

    • Meticulous and strong organisational skills

    • Able to talk to both juniors and seniors and get them excited about a growth opportunity

    • You love talking to people to understand their needs and want to ensure that they are always delighted

    • Thrives on working in a small, close collaborative team

    • Demonstrated passion for helping others fulfil their own potential

    • High confidence, low ego and a passion to tackle new challenges and learn new things
