Performance Engineer at Atlantica Yield

Key responsibilities, among others: 

• Monitor and assess the daily performance of a CSP power station against technical performance models and commercial benchmarks 
• Develop and implement plans, processes and procedures to provide performance, lifetime and efficiency improvements to the plant 
• Monitor the performance of equipment, instrumentation, pumps, vessels, pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, valves, seals, solar collectors and other related equipment. 
• Develop tools to monitor and minimize the effect of production losses  
• Review operational reporting and identify issues and propose solutions   
• Complete troubleshooting and fault analysis 
• Manage key performance related service agreements and contracts 
• Complete project technical reporting requirements  
• Track and implement internal best practices policies  

Position Level: 

• Junior to Mid-level position:  Graduate (0) to 3 yrs. experience required.   

Requirements: 

• A degree in Engineering: Mechatronic, Electrical, Mechanical or similar engineering disciplines are applicable.  
• Master’s degree in renewable energy, energy systems or project management will be advantageous - but not essential. 

Experience:   

• Graduate (0) to 3 years’ experience in the South African Renewables sector.   
• On-site experience or IPP project experience will be highly beneficial  
• Any study or academic background in Solar Energy, CSP or Renewable Energy will be advantageous. 

Other:  

• Full English proficiency is essential. Spanish or Afrikaans will be advantageous. 
• Must be willing to live in the Northern Cape of South Africa.
