Recruitment and Liaison Officer
The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) is a fast growing registered Trade Union organising within the retail motor industry. This dynamic trade union provides its members with a well-versed negotiating team as well as peace of mind through the provision of a variety of benefits, ranging from labour related legal assistance and financial support by way of numerous monetary benefits.
We are seeking an experienced and vibrant Recruitment and Liaison Officer to join our growing organization. The candidate will be based in our Johannesburg offices.
Job Purpose:
The candidate will be responsible for the recruiting and signing up of potential union members as well as the retention of existing union members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Extensively planning for weekly visits at dealerships and submitting the plans for approval.
Attend appointments at dealerships, make presentations on the Union and Benefits with an intention of recruiting and signing up potential MISA members.
Liaise with MISA members on a regular basis in order to:
provide them with updates on the benefits of MISA membership;
update their details;
assess their needs; and
provide the correct referrals for assistance.
Report on activities on a weekly and a monthly basis.
Job Requirements:
1. Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
2. Experience in a trade union environment and/or knowledge of the motor industry will be beneficial.
Computer Literate (intermediate) in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams/Zoom.
Excellent Telephone and E-mail etiquette.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Ability to build positive relationships through collaboration and diplomacy.
Excellent command of English and/or Afrikaans and another official South African Language.
Well-groomed, self-confident individual with a vibrant and confident personality.
9. Must possess and exhibit high levels of professionalism.
10. Attention to detail and high organization skills.
11. Punctuality and strict adherence to deadlines.
12. Team worker and target driven.
13. Able and willing to travel extensively.
14. Emotional intelligence
15. Valid Code 8 Drivers License
No Criminal Record
Preferred Skills:
1. Knowledge of the motor industry will be beneficial.
2. Customer centric skills and or Customer Liaison skills.

The candidate shall be appointed on a fixed term contract for 4 months, with a possibility to be extended.
