TS1 Support Flotation and Thickening at Metso Outotec

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Providing high technical expertise in the area of troubleshooting, process knowledge, technical incidents, operation and maintenance for Flotation & Thickening. Through site visits and using Digital and Remote services (i.e. Augmented Reality)

• Specializing to own technology areas in order to provide expertise support in site operations and technology related incidents and inquiries or problems

• Participating in technical warranty claim or customer complaint handling

• Act as a trainer for internal/external technical trainings, for products

• Expertise support for problem management, technical sales support, R&D and product development

• Support IB Validation; CTO and ETO quotation development through solution definition and technical research ; inspection report reviews, recommendations and solution as requested

• Supporting Field Service with Technical information/details

• Supporting the sales process and assisting with the Technical information flow and part numbers

• Assisting with developing and influencing and negotiations when required

Qualifications & Experience
 

• Matric (Grade 12)

• National Diploma in Mechanical / Process Engineering and a minimum of 5 year’s field experience in Process Equipment or,

• B Tech / BSc / BEng with a minimum of 5 years field experience

• Must have experience of applications in minerals processing

• Must have up to date understanding & knowledge as a technical product specialist

• Understanding and experience of sales and financials

• Familiarity with a broad range of Minerals Processing Equipment

• Familiar with the core processes of the sales process

• Experience in complex relationships

• Position requires support management expertise, good customer relation skills, ability to work within a team environment, mechanical aptitude, creativity, innovation, and ability to see the larger picture

• High sense of urgency and passion for service and support

• Supervision skills

• Strong relationship building skills, a bias for action and detail-oriented behaviours

• A high level of computer skills is essential - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

• Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines

• Ability to work in a team atmosphere

• Client skills including building and managing relationships, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements

• Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces

• Ability to travel regularly

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb and balance

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers, telefax, visits and movement through shops, and travel experiences

• Climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolds at jobsites and customer facilities

• Full driver’s license with clean drivers record
