This acquisition transaction was barely concluded when SAP acquired Sybase Inc shortly afterwards.
The two principals of Sybase SA, namely Alan Cowley and Wayne Borcher, were appointed as Head of SAP Database Business for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Head of SAP Database Business for Africa, respectively.
The drive and passion that Alan and Wayne shared could not be contained in a large corporate such as SAP and a decision was taken to start a new journey into the exciting world of data intelligence.
