    Accounting Bookkeeper

    Smollan is looking for a Financial Bookkeeper  to assume responsibility for general ledger reporting and collation for various companies by verifying, allocating and posting transactions. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and month end reporting to management.

    Qualifications and Skills Needed

    • B Comm (Accounting) and SAIPA Articles preferential

    Minimum Experience

    • 2-3 years related experience in a similar role
    • SAGE X3 experience preferable

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Financial and Accounts Management Skills 
    •  Commercial Skills 
    •  Customer Service Skills 
    •  Time Management Skills 
    •  Planning and Organising Skills 

    Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

    • Accurate, complete balance sheet 
    • Process general ledger journals  
    • Managing of monthly provisions and accruals 
    • Month-end transactions • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
    • Liaise with auditors to ensure audit runs smoothly 
    • Prepare audit file based on audit requirements from auditors 
    • Assist with all audit queries 
    • Ensure all relevant documentation requested by auditors are submitted
    • Effective teamwork and self-management 
    • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained 
    • Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures 
    • Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
