To assist the Director / Partner with the management and operations of the Accounting and Bookkeeping Department.
Business Development
· Identifying potential opportunities for business development
· Liaison between client and audit partners
· Timeous drafting and submission of engagement/proposal letters
· Timeous handling of all customer queries and request
· Ensure good customer relationships and customer feedback
· Delivery on client request and needs
· Professional conduct relevant to clients
· Customer retention level
Finance
· Ensures timesheets and travel claims are on Maconomy weekly for the department
· Management of department productivity, WIP, write offs, billings
· Compiling and submission of annual budget
· Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures
· Check payment requests and reconciling
· Attending to all financial queries
Quality and Process
· Preparation of schedules & recons for audits
· Preparation of Compilation Reports
· Management of the Payroll Function
· Accounts to Trial Balance: Accuracy of data; Completeness of accounts; Timeous delivery; Timeous
resolving of all queries and follow up
· Administration Assistance provided to department to meet deadlines as required
· Performing of administration in accordance with acceptable company standards
· Reconciliations
· Reviewing of files: Ensure accurate preparation of annual financial statements; Accuracy of files;
Completeness of files; Ensure compliance with statutory requirements; Timeous outlining of review
queries and follow up
· Ensure division administration complies with company standards and procedures
· Preparation of Financial Statements
· Prepare own working paper files for review
· Administration of Estates
People Development, Learning and Growth
· Effectively assist with the recruitment process of department
· Delegation of duties and responsibilities to junior staff
· Timeous handling of staff queries and issues
· Timeous and objective reviewing of staff performance and the motivation of increases
· Motivate staff to obtain budget targets as determined
· Determine staff training needs
· On the job training as required
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Education and Skills Required:
· Grade 12
· Formal qualification in accounting/bookkeeping
· 5 – 10 Years general accounting/bookkeeping experience within similar industry
