Accounts Payable Controller at New Media

Job Summary:

Key responsibilities

• Full creditors function working on SAP
• Ensuring adherence to the financial policies and procedures
• Receipt and control of documentation for payment to ensure that only approved and valid transactions are processed
• Controlling payment of creditors invoices
• Processing and controlling freelance payments
• Processing weekly and monthly electronic transfers
• Ensuring that all payments are timeously and accurately processed
• Keeping information up to date
• Working as a team player to relieve other creditor-related duties in the department
• Assisting in data capture and acting as administrative support to the senior AP controller and Finance department – includes switchboard-relief duty, filing and archiving

Essential requirements

• Matric with accountancy and mathematics
• Proven experience as a billing clerk or general accounting experience
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Strong problem-solving and reconciliation ability
• Ability to work with a team under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Good numeracy skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills

A further accounting qualification and/or SAP experience would be advantageous.
