    Board Associate

    To provide a two-way communication channel with the Board to create greater understanding of the role of the Board among colleagues and enabling the Board to hear more of colleagues’ views by

    • Sharing information as to how the Board operates, makes decisions and considers information in doing so,
    • Sharing with the Board the Board Associate’s interpretation of the views and attitudes of colleagues regarding the operation of the Group on relevant topics; and
    • Explaining to colleagues the background to decisions made by the Board where appropriate.
    • Also, to ensure that the Board appropriately considers the interests of colleagues when making decisions.

    Terms Of Appointment

    • Initial appointment of 12 months extendable to 18 months.
    • To attend Board meetings - speaking and actively participating but not vote on Board matters.
    • To sign an appropriate confidentiality agreement upon appointment as Board Associate may get exposure to sensitive and confidential information.
    • May be required to attend Board Committee meetings by invitation of the Committee Chair when considered appropriate.
    • May be required to attend Board Dinners by invitation of the Chairman.
    • May be required to attend Board Engagement events.
    • The duties of Board Associate shall be additional to their present responsibilities. Their VSGM/LEAD goals will be adapted to ensure that their contribution can be accommodated and recognised.
    • There is no additional remuneration.
    • Sage will provide the new Board Associate with appropriate coaching and the Group Secretariat will provide necessary support.

    Requirements for Candidate

    • A Sage employee for at least two years on a continuous basis, a minimum of 5 years of working experience and a strong performance record.
    • Strong level of English in order to converse with other colleagues, interact at meetings and review papers.
    • Manager to provide written support for the candidate in applying for the role.
    • Experienced in working with different colleague cultures, levels and teams within Sage.
    • Well organized and a proactive approach to make the most of this unique opportunity

    • This opportunity is targeted at colleagues within the organization (excluding EVPs). Applicants can be of different levels of seniority within Sage (e.g. VPs, Director or Associate/Manager/Senior Manager colleagues).
