Apple is looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive strategic new payment services for Apple’s digital payments and commerce business. As our ideal candidate, you are dynamic, results-driven and enjoy a high-change environment that is focused on building the next generation of Apple’s payment experiences. This role will support the expansion and launch of new payment methods for Apple’s Media Products, with a specific focus on the African region.
As a member of the Wallet, Payments and Commerce Team, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement global strategies for your assigned territory and build the necessary business cases to support the launch of new payment methods in order to grow our App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books and Apple Music. You should have the ability to analyse markets, identify opportunities, build strong business plans that align with technical implementations, local regulation, best-in-class user experience and Apple’s strategy. Creativity, persistence and the ability to collaborate are essential to the success in this role.
Payment experience in a business development or product role
Experience in analysing and customising payment services for local markets, working with global teams to articulate market-specific requirements and needs
Experience working with carriers, financial institutions, regulators and payment platforms with a strong understanding of alternative payments
Ability to prioritise in a cross-functional environment
Highly skilled at presenting ideas and obtaining support
Action-oriented and energetic with ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Clear understanding of what a phenomenal customer experience should be.
Strong analytical approach and fierce attention to detail
Effective at interacting at all organisational levels
Sound product/project management skills and ability to perform under tight deadlines and under pressure
Insight into customer payments, online commerce and/or digital products
Previous work experience in the designated territory
Help build strong business cases for new payment services in the region
Closely partner with cross functional teams to deliver on your priority projects
Ensure your projects, pipeline and efforts align with global payments strategy
Stay appraised of changing payments landscape to ensure that the global strategy is aligned to meet local customer needs and regulatory requirements
Build and maintain strong business relationships with internal partners and payment providers
Drive implementation of payment solutions ensuring all product requirements are executed to Apple standards
Engage with local regulators where needed
Education & Experience
BA or BSc (Hons) in business, business management, finance, computer science, or engineering preferred
Proficiency in English a pre-requisite + additional language(s) and experience in the territory required
