    Business Process Automation Developer

    About the job
    We are looking for an experienced Business Process Automation Developer to join our Cape Town hub, the successful applicant will be responsible for studying current business processes and developing new methods to improve productivity, increase user satisfaction, and reduce operational costs.
    The Business Process Automation Developer will be responsible for mapping and documenting existing practices, presenting proposals for new ways of working and delivering these changes in the form of applications across a range of technologies.
    The successful applicant must be a confident communicator, able to articulate complex solutions to both technical staff and senior leadership and maintain ownership of all processes / applications delivered to the business - providing updates, support and training when required.

    What you will do

    Create, support and maintain automation tools using appropriate platforms – Microsoft Power Apps / Office / PowerShell – designed to automate business processes and improve productivity.
    Own all stages of the development lifecycle including scoping, design, development planning, testing and publishing.
    Consider available technologies and advise on most suitable for each use case, based on licensing, time and budget.
    Provide tracking of development progress using Azure DevOps environment, aligning with sprint and release schedules.
    Create end-user and technical documentation.
    Train end-users.

    What we are looking for

    • Someone who is able to demonstrate an understanding of complex business processes and quickly identify the core requirements.
    • A confident communicator who is able to articulate business requirements up to C-level.
    • Someone with the ability to work independently and be a self-starter, happy to work with changing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
    • A proactive and pragmatic approach to developing new solutions, liaising closely with stakeholders across the business to analyse their current business processes with a view to automating them.
    • Successful track record of developing a range of business automation processes/applications that have proven ROI [must be able to provide examples] (essential).
    • Delivery of high-quality applications independently, owning development and delivery (essential).
    • Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources (essential).
    • Understanding PowerApps formulas and development methods to develop canvas and model-driven apps (essential).
    • Canvas and model-driven PowerApps with quality UX interface (essential skill).
    • Microsoft Forms (essential knowledge).
    • SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts and workflow creation (essential knowledge).

    It would be desirable if you also have

    • Development experience of Office applications/forms that interact with external data sources.
    • Familiar experience with Microsoft PowerShell development of complex scripts.
    • Experience in web development including JavaScript, Dynamics 365 APIs, CSS and JSON.
    • Good understanding of relational database development and SQL experience.
    • Knowledge of reporting tools such as SSRS and Power BI.
    • Knowledge of IDEs including Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code and PowerShell.
    • Relevant Microsoft certifications for the above technologies.
