    Category Specialist Food Service

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leading the development of a channel strategy which seeks to exploit incremental sales growth opportunities in existing and new food service environments.
    • Implement the trade marketing plans by working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver them in a timely manner and on budget.
    • Work closely with brand, sales & distribution partners to ensure alignment and excellent operator execution.
    • Conducting pre and post analyses of promotions, developing a library   of performance history, and adjusting business plans based on results to drive improved return on investment in all types of trade spending.
    • Analyse opportunities in portfolio and channel / environment performances at area and regional levels, and develop programs to capitalise on the opportunity.
    • Applying trade insights (global & local) to develop recommendations for product, pricing, & promotion, by channel / environment.
    • Champion accumulation of FS Channel Insights and ensure that learnings are transferred quickly into day-to-day business processes.
    • Contribute to effective business planning by helping develop channel / environment and account specific strategies and operator programs which deliver the brand / product segment and channel budget, and managing risks and opportunities.
    • Consolidate the operator needs / grid by FS channel / environment for inputs in commercial plans and provide operator perspective in commercial process.

     

                  

    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications: and working experience

    • 3 Year tertiary qualification – preferably in Marketing or Business Management
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Category, Trade Marketing environment
    • Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel and Word)
    • Strategic category thinker
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong brand marketing foundation
    • Customer oriented
    • Customer development experience
    • Challenges status quo and encourages innovative thinking
    • Utilises a broad set of internal and external resources to make informed decisions
    • Ability to work under pressure as well as to apply prioritization abilities
    • Display leadership ability
    • Assertiveness in driving for business understanding and results
    • Strong communicator to all levels, experience dealing with senior level professionals
    • Strong time management and organisational skills
    • FMGC experience
    • Valid SA driver’s license
