    CC&E Manager PEM

    •  The role will ensure that the end to end business integrity agenda as it relates to compliance and ethical behaviour remains consistent with external expectations, is fit for purse and brings to life our commitment to doing business in the right way from grain to glass.
    • The CCE manager will employ commercial acumen, lateral thinking, effective risk management and brilliant execution to enable achievement of the business integrity agenda in PEM.


    It Will Be a Key Thought Partner To The Managing Director In The Establishment, Maintenance And Continuous Improvement Of The Group’s Controls, Compliance And Ethics Programme By Providing Leadership And Direction To Cross-functional Teams With a Focus On The Following Priorities

    • Manages, coaches and supports at least 3 commercial hubs (West Africa, Central Africa and Angola).
    • Strong leader with authority and influence in order to manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
    • Ability to build strong trusted relationships especially with the MD, FD, HR, Legal and above markets and AEM leadership teams.
    • The role forms part of the PEM Leadership team with one direct report.
    • Partner with the Executive team to drive understanding, ownership and accountability to be cascaded throughout the market
    • Challenge and intervene to promote the business integrity agenda and help embed a principles-based approach to compliance.
    • Takes active role in championing “doing the right thing” and coaching team members and other key stakeholders (including our business partners) to adopt a culture of integrity in their businesses. Challenge existing ways of working, seek opportunities to minimise risk and ensure controls and compliance remains a key business priority.
    • Partner with the functions to implement and embed controls. Oversee Control Assurance and Risks Management (CARM) across the markets.
    • Work in partnership with finance and oversee / assist in performing audits/end-to-end process reviews on high risk areas as needed to ensure controls are adhered to and control gaps are identified and remediated.
    • Facilitate employee understanding and accountability of the risks they face and ensure they have role-appropriate training. Ensure solid understanding of the policies. Coordinate training and engagement activities and evaluate them for impact.
    • Facilitate robust, holistic assessment of risks, informed by Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Enable use of data analytics to drive earlier, more impactful and integrated risk management for established business and any potential new business ventures.
    • Oversee breach management process in line with Diageo standards, coordinate investigations with HR, Corp Security and Legal if required, maintain oversight over trends and ensure prevention or remediation actions are implemented where needed.
    • University graduate or ACCA qualified. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience post qualification
    • Fluent in English is required. Fluent or understanding of French & Portuguese is a plus
    • High level of personal integrity, and proven ability to question and ‘stand tall’ under pressure
    • Strong Project Management experience in the context of auditing
    • Track record of consistently delivering to deadlines & standards in a high-pressure environment.
    • Committed to achieving results.
    • Able to work as part of a team and also with remote teams
    • Ability to deal with volatility and effectively flex to meet the needs of a changing business

    Key Skills And Experience

    • Exceptional people, networking and communication skills (strong interpersonal skills)
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • PC literate but particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook
    • Problem solving and analysis.
    • High level of accuracy and adherence to deadlines
    • Ability to prioritise when faced with conflicting demands.
    • Proven ability to manage projects and facilitate business change
