Chief Financial Officer at Black Pen Recruitment

Our client, an US based Venture Capital, which committed to investing in Africa’s Women entrepreneurs, is currently looking for a dynamic Chief Financial Officer in Cape Town, South Africa.

The CFO will be responsible for all aspects of financial management of the fund and will support and provide hands on assistance to the portfolio companies to ensure accurate reporting and financial performance.

Requirements:

• BS in Accounting, CPA, CA(SA), FCCA or MBA
• 10+ years working experience within large multientity organizations
• Previous financial management experience within high-growth entrepreneurial companies preferred
• Previous experience with Venture Capital or Private Equity backed companies preferred

Key responsibilities:

• Provide financial leadership and guidance to enable portfolio companies to grow exponentially
• Produce regular financial statements and reports in respect of the fund and its individual investments including the composition of the assets comprising the portfolio and the changes therein
• Check market value of the assets comprising the Investments and the changes therein over the period reported on including the original cost of the Investment held, as well as the latest valuation thereof
• Cash receipts and payments
• Details of non-cash transactions during the period, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, details of capitalisation issues, scrip dividends and options
• Profits and losses realised during the period and balance statements
• Income earned and expenses incurred during the period reported
• Provide necessary tax information for the completion of any relevant tax returns
• Produce and update financial models for portfolio companies
• Provide timely financial analysis that enables great business intel and strategy development
• Provide records for and manage financial audits of the Fund & management thereof
• Oversee and mentor all external accounting teams of portfolio companies, providing appropriate education to help them become self-sufficient
