    Communication Manager

    About

    • Sanlam Corporate Cluster comprises of the two existing businesses - Sanlam Employee Benefits (SEB) and Sanlam Health Management (SHM) and the soon to be established Sanlam Corporate Solutions. These businesses enhance our corporate business offering through providing integrated solutions for corporate clients both in South Africa and across the African continent by providing tailored solutions to targeted corporates.

    What will you do?

    • Develops, implements and takes joint accountability for the best practice framework of the Internal Communications function. Contributes to the development of the brand architecture as well as strategies and related processes to grow the brand and position the message correctly, i.e. targeted, employee-specific communication mechanisms utilising technology and industry standards, newsletters, etc. Continuously researches and monitors company brand’s health performance and the impact of communication, identifying areas for improvement. Manages website and participates in the design of a customer feedback capability in respect of internal communications service delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set, implement, oversee and measure communication campaigns/strategies in collaboration with the various SC business and products.
    • Investigate innovative ways to communicate with various stakeholders.
    • Identifies and presents opportunities for consistency in messaging and customer experience across channels and all external communication.
    • Manage and support the communication team in delivering communication initiatives to all stakeholders.
    • Directs in-house and external graphic designers, photographers, and other media-production specialists integral to the completion of communication projects

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations or equivalent
    • More than 5 years’ experience in communications in the insurance industry
    • More than 5 years management and or supervisory experience

    Qualification And Experience

    • Degree or Diploma with 5-6 years related experience

    Knowledge And Skills

    • Strategic leadership and engagement
    • Create Communication Strategy/plan (both internal and external)
    • Execute Communication Strategy/plan
    • Content generation, editing and copywriting
    • Assists in budgeting, expense management of communications budget
