    DIVISIONAL EXECUTIVE

    To execute the operating plan for the assigned division in alignment with the divisional and national store operations and human capital strategic objectives through service excellence, effective people and cost management whilst mitigating risk. 
    Job Objectives:

    • To deliver the key budget drivers including sales growth, employment costs, other Opex and operating profit.
    • To drive a culture of customer service excellence that results in a great customer affiliation and retention in line with the business strategy.
    • To leverage the competitive advantage of the Clubcard loyalty programme including digital platform to increase the Clubcard participation rate as a percentage of sales, basket size and frequency.
    • To effectively share divisional insights and trends with stakeholders which may impact decision making about product range, pricing, promotions, customer and people strategies aimed at enhancing brand equity and gain market shares.
    • To continuously scan and conduct external marketing analyses within the division in order to identify competitor risks and locational opportunities.
    • To support the delivery of the human capital strategy, aimed at building organizational capability to meet current and future business needs.
    • To effectively lead, direct and develop the regional managers and operations support teams to deliver on all agreed performance objectives.
    • To champion the organisational values and ethics
    • To monitor performance throughout the division at area, pharmacy, front-shop and category level in order to identify opportunities and deficiencies. and take the necessary remedial action.
    • To deliver continuous business process improvements within the division that improves operational execution, governance and risk.
    • To ensure a healthy, secure control environment

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Essential: Relevant Degree (retail or finance or commercial management, pharmacy or related qualification)
    • Minimum 7 years' senior operational management experience within a multi-site environment (ideally within a listed retail company)
    • 10-15 years’ retail store operations experience
    • 10-15 years’ experience of managing skilled employees within multi-site environments
    • Proven experience in managing budgets in excess of R 750 million  per annum (Income statements, financial, people and stock risks, financial ratio’s, etc.)
