    Ecommerce Manager

    JOB PURPOSE:

    Takes ownership of the eCommerce channel to ensure direct participation in an omnichannel and multipurpose payment and commerce offering across a diverse customer estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for the growth of ECommerce within the organisation, by organising and establishing this new direct channel to leverage a multipurpose commerce offering. Drives the growth of E-Commerce within the organisation, by enhancing customer experience, technology and infrastructural plans. Responsible for generating data-driven commercial insights and managing relationships with strategic partners for the organisation. Works in a fast-paced, digitally-centric environment where incumbent oversees the end-to-end commercialisation and operationalization of the E-Commerce channel. Participates in, directs and supports vision and strategy development and decision making for the organization. Translates mission, vision, and strategy for the organization to mission, vision, and strategy for the e-commerce channel.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Functional Strategy Formation

    • Define and set the Ecommerce strategy, working with both internal and external stakeholders to build and communicate the strategic importance of Ecommerce channels while aligning with broader organizational strategy.
    • Define and deliver new digital payments experiences, serving the complex needs of a very diverse client audience, across a number of digital channels (desktop, mobile, file, API).

    E-commerce

    • Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practices.
    • Consult on cross-functional projects to ensure eCommerce principles are incorporated.
    • Identify new areas of eCommerce by providing a view on potential improvements for products or services and an assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment.
    • Generate and implement new initiatives to increase eCommerce sales and profitability.
    • Develop ways in which to commercialise digital products and services.
    • Development of marketing mix models to analyze and simulate the incremental impact of digital and offline marketing.
    • Conceptualize and deploy Design of Experiments to measure interaction effects of various e-commerce channels.
    • Ability to negotiate and shape a proposition including understanding pricing and risk.
    • Work together with the established channel leaders and organisational business to ensure cross-channel alignment and consolidation.

    Business Planning

    • Develop and gain agreement for annual business plans for the functional area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other key performance indicators); detail expense and headcount budgets; and develop business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.

    Leadership

    • Be an effective inspirational leader to facilitate the creation of motivated, accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
    • Coach, counsel and train digital team, operational managers and staff to apply, support, sustain and develop a continuous improvement culture.
    • Role model behaviour and motivate team members in line with the Blue Label Telecoms values and ethos.
    • Guidance of others and active development of self to improve on their technical and communication abilities so that capabilities and deliveries are better understood and thus trusted and applied through the business.
    • Translates strategy into goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
    • Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities.
    • Build and grow the digital team aligned to the overall strategic objectives and direction.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans.
    • Develop positive stakeholder relationships, and to ensure that each stakeholder relationships, and to ensure that each stakeholder has an appropriate share of voice.
    • Drive the roll out, acceptance of, understanding of, delivery of, and expansion of ecommerce initiatives.

    EDUCATION

    • Matric 
    • Bachelors' Degree in related field

    EXPERIENCE

    General Experience

    • Wide and deep experience providing expert competence with exposure toeCommerce, payment gateways, or payment and risk preferred (Over 7 years)

    Managerial Experience

    • Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 5 years)
