    Employee Assistance Practitioner

    THE ROLE

    The Employee Assistance Practitioner will focus on, educating the business/employees on Mental Health and the intellectual, emotional, psychological, social, behavioural aspects of human functioning. The Employee Assistance Practitioner will identify psychological, emotional or behavioural matters and come forth with a remedy of actions. The Employee Assistance Practitioner will work under the supervision of the Employee Assistance Manager (Clinical Psychologist).

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Developing wellness initiatives with a positive impact on learning and development.
    • Advise on Knowledge sharing and upliftment of skills base
    • Administering of other assessments that may be used to help people learn more about different aspects of their personalities or as screening and evaluation tools
    • Developing and facilitating awareness sessions on a range of topics relevant to the employees and the challenges they experience in their workplace.
    • Improving employee satisfaction and maximising the productivity of the workforce. Find ways to make jobs more rewarding or design programs that improve the quality of life in the workplace.
    • Assess, refer and provide basic counselling to employees.
    • Assisting with coaching, goal setting and other crucial skills such as conflict management, managerial style and the necessary coping skills to cope with their specific work environment.
    • Generate, consolidate and submit reports and statistics

    QUALIFICATION:

    • BPsyc Degree or a Honours Degree in Psychology
    • Registration with the Health Professions Council of SA
    • Registered to practice as Registered Counselor

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Basic Counselling experience
    • Development of wellbeing programmes and initiatives
    • EAP Experience

    KNOWLEDGE:

    • Experience in individual/group work counselling
    • Experience in the Professional Services Industry will be beneficial

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Proficiency in MS Office suite
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Organization skills

    BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Conflict handling and interpersonal relations skills
    • Communication skills (written, presentation, verbal and listening)
    • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Professionalism
    • Strong client orientation
    • Stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to prioritise and handle stress
    • Socially aware and able to work as part of a diverse team
    • Innovative and willing to share ideas for new ways of working
    • Ability to work with all levels within an organisation
