    Finance Manager

    • Management of the financial risk of the Distribution Centres [DC]
    •    Establishing controls and processes to ensure accurate reporting and managing of financial risk for the distribution centres
    •    Providing support to DC HOD team to assist with the management of operational risk for the distribution centres
    •    Establish and provide insight on key performance indicators
    •    Management of store claims & stock in transit
    •    Identify financial risks/issues through operational audits and follow through of solution implementation
    •    Prepare and manage Monthly/Weekly budgets
    •    Prepare monthly management accounts and report to the Supply Chain division management and Corporate Finance
    •    The administration of purchase orders and expenses
    •    Strong focus on inventory including reporting and the management of all associated risks.
    •    Draft, monitor and assess the DC financial plan that is aligned to the PICK N PAY Supply Chain financial plan in conjunction with management
    •    Assess options for coordinating activities, procedures and systems so as to promote common policies and practices at national level.
    •    Ensure adherence to Company policy and procedures
    •    Keep abreast with changes in financial regulations and legislation; and ensure that they are in line with the business practices
    •    Manage and advise on the proper allocation of resources within the division.
    •    Ensure that employees have appropriate skills and knowledge to meet current and future operational needs and Performance Management
    •    Development and training needs of subordinates according to Workplace Skills Plan
    •    Succession Planning and coaching of employees

    CORE COMPETENCIES:

    •   Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    •   Reporting
    •   The relevant computer literacy
    •   Recognition and procedures agreements
    •   Sound knowledge of South African accounting and taxation policies and practices.
    •   Organizational management systems, including policies and procedures
    •    (Range: Management systems include: financial, administrative, operational &HR   systems)


    REQUIREMENTS:

    •  4-year Tertiary Qualification, Honors Degree in Finance /Accounting & Auditing
    •  Qualified CA/CIMA would be advantageous
    •  At least 5 - 7 years’ experience in accounting/internal auditing
    •  3 – 5 years in senior supervisory position
