    Finance Manager

    The Finance Lead role will be part of the TransUnion Finance team and will oversee Corporate Financial Accounting for TransUnion’s Johannesburg, South Africa office and ensure local finance, accounting, tax & audit compliance. This position will ensure effective use of financial systems and accounting for our Johannesburg location.

    How You Will Contribute

    • Performing regular payroll processing and ensuring such amounts and related financial accruals are properly accounted for
    • Analyze and prepare month-end accruals related to Johannesburg, South Africa people costs
    • Quarterly expense forecasting of Johannesburg operations
    • Ensuring all monthly accruals and balances reconcile to the month-end trial balances
    • Prepare and analyze business unit financial statements for business leaders
    • Support local business unit leaders by providing accurate and timely financial information for strategic decision making
    • Planning, coordinating and ensuring timely completion of Statutory Audits
    • In charge of all documents (incl. Vouchers, Supporting, Tax Filings etc.) ensuring that they are securely filed and easily traceable whenever required
    • Regularly reviewing all Vouchers, Documents and Ledger Accounts
    • Ensuring that Chart of Accounts is always maintained in clean and structured format
    • Making necessary accruals and provisions from time to time, to ensure that there are no surprises in final financial numbers
    • Ensuring accurate segmentation of costs, while they are getting booked in Accounts
    • Settling all vendor issues relating to Accounting and Taxation
    • Overseeing destruction of old / unwanted documents; complying with Law
    • Responsible for Vendor TDS Deductions, Payments, Return Filings and issue of Certificates
    • Preparing quarterly explanations about costs, for Board Meetings
    • Custodian of Company assets (including ensuring that these are adequately insured by Insurance Coordinator), maintenance of all financial records relating to fixed assets, and physical verification of all assets as per Company plan
    • Partnering with Procurement, Legal & Strategy teams and advising them on Finance related issues
    • Being part of Procurement partnering process, representing Finance in committees as nominated
    • Ensuring quick and proper response to all queries and requirements of statutory and internal auditors
    • Ensuring compliance of all Legal requirements in own area
    • Responsible for existence of proper internal controls and ensuring timely statutory & internal audits in own area
    • Complying with ISO27001 standard with respect to own area
    • Other responsibilities or priorities that may be given by the CFO, from time to time

    • CA / Cost Act. / MBA (Fin) / CFA (or equivalent)
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in Accounting, Costing, Taxation, Vendor Payment, etc. areas of a reputed medium / large sized Company
    • Very high level of integrity and ethics
    • Lots of energy, ability to plan things and passion for execution
    • Extremely high passion for excellence in reporting and accuracy
    • Ability to reconcile numbers from various sources, ensuring that they all tie-up
    • Ability to articulate reasons for variances in a very clear and concise manner
    • Very good Accounting knowledge, incl. of Accounting Standards
    • Very strong knowledge and focus on internal controls
    • Very good knowledge of local tax viz. Income Tax, PAYE (pay-as-you-earn), Capital Gains Tax, Value Added Tax etc.
    • Strong desire to learn, work cross-functionally, contribute and grow with the Organization, and implement best practices
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
    • Domestic and/or international travel may be required
