Financial Manager

We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Financial Manager– possessing a robust financial acumen, deep-set analytical skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset – to join us in changing the way people send and receive parcels. You will be an integral part of the finance team and will assist on both a finance and operational level. Responsibilities

• Perform all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
• Preparation of management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance and managing the day to day accounting activities.
• Prepare the financial reporting, analysis and forecasts to ensure timely and accurate reporting and planning
• Own responsibility of VAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory/regulatory submissions
• Assist and provide input with regards to operating controls, to automate systems for scalability
• Assist with development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment and management to ensure that financial risks are identified and addressed
• Monitoring of annual budget on an quarterly basis in coordination with various departments
• Weekly/monthly reconciliations of revenue and cost of sales between inventory system, accounting system, and merchant database for the purposes of the weekly and monthly sales reports

• Assist with monthly payroll and other ad-hoc duties as required.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Preparing annual audit documentation for external audit firm, including closing off, liaising with auditors.
• Maintaining and attending to all company secretarial duties

Requirements

• CA(SA) with 0-2 years post article experience OR
• CIMA/SAIPA or equivalent with over 3 years Financial Management experience
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• High attention to detail and accuracy
