    Financial Services Manager

    •  Supervising internal control systems and preparing the financial statements
    •  Analysis of business performance
    •  Standardization of processes and systems across the business
    •  Effective use and enhancement of the financial system and use BI tools
    •  Developing and mentoring staff
    •  Maintain the integrity, accuracy and governance of all financial affairs, ensure accounting standards are in compliance with International Financial and Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    •  Dissemination of financial statements and reports as required
    •  Providing input on structures and productivity of accounting/finance departments
    •  Reviewing reported results (Monthly, Interim and Year End), analyze variances and deviations from benchmarks
    •  Monthly review of general ledger and reconciliation of various ledger accounts
    •  Journal processing at month end and ad hoc journals as necessary
    •  Preparation of monthly management reports for the divisions as well as the company, performing variance analysis and providing commentary in a timely and accurate manner
    •  Preparation of monthly forecasts
    •  Accountability for allocated costs to correct divisions and cost centres, reporting on variances
    •  Month end consolidation of subsidiary companies into group report
    •  Monthly VAT reconciliations and SARS e-filing submissions
    •  Assisting with the preparation of budget templates for the business, co-ordination and collation of all budget information across the various divisions and departments
    •  Assisting with annual audit preparation and execution
    •  Maintaining control over the Fixed Asset Register
    •  Cash forecasts and treasury management
    •  Operational involvement with the business in identifying areas that the finance department can add value
    •  Continuously look to improve and enhance financial and relevant business processes for optimal efficiency & productivity
    •  Various ad hoc projects and other responsibilities incumbent on this role

    Skills and Competencies:

    •  Cost and management accounting including variance analysis, feasibility studies, budgeting & forecasting
    •  Big picture thinking with a high tolerance to stress
    •  Ability to ensure clear communication channels
    •  Commercial acumen and corporate governance
    •  Contract management
    •  Strategic individual who is able to improve and implement on processes and systems
    •  Process orientation with regard to financial discipline

    •  Excel and numeracy competency – extremely good

    Qualifications:

    •  Incumbent must be a qualified CA (SA) and at least 3 years post article experience
    •  Must have extensive financial management experience at Financial Manager level
    •  Strong IFRS knowledge
    •  Group (i.e. multiple locations) and consolidation practical experience
    •  Credible track record and financial competence
    •  Commercially minded with strong contract experience
    •  Analytical skills, critical thinker and solution orientated (ability to solve problems)
    •  Able to build solid controls, systems and process to enable the business to meet organisational expectations
    •  Innovative and entrepreneurial with high energy and customer focused
    •  An ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders internally and externally
    •  The capability to leverage off the organisations existing intellectual property (IP)
    •  An ability to lead and manage teams
    •  Strong understanding of negotiation, legal contracting writing and risk management (commerciality)
