    FP&A Analyst (Mergers & Acquisitions)

    Role Overview

    Ideal candidates for this group posses a fanatical sense of urgency, have a natural can-do mentality, understand how business and finances work. The ideal candidate located in South Africa has a positive attitude and willingness to be flexible and assist wherever necessary. The candidate will identify opportunities to seamlessly absorb workload from the US, and perform it in Cape Town (including client relationships and buyer interfacing). 


    Core job responsibilities are as follows:

    FP&A

    • Assisting in the fundamental underwriting (due diligence) and analytical efforts in the course of the sell-side M&A process.

    Working with Management teams:

    • To understandhistorical financials, analyze trends and build out forecasts
    • Perform financial analysis to aid buyers in understanding our clients historical performance and adding more detail on the future prospects and potential of our client company

    Due diligence activities, including:

    • Organizing all due diligence materials and filling a data room
    • Providing a holistic approach to financial analysis in terms of including qualitative as well as quantitative metrics to provide an accurate, thorough understanding to our buyers
    • Preparing financial statement models, updating financial models and being available to perform as-needed financial analysis
    • Using excel skills such as V-lookup, Pivot tables, and development of visual graphs/charts.
    • Exporting pertinent data from Client's Quickbooks file.
    • Preparation of Balance sheets, Income Statements and Cash Flow Statements.

    Requirements Education/Qualifications:

    • Degree in accounting or finance.
    • A minimum of three to five years of work experience in accounting, finance or advisory services is preferred.
    • Ability to execute against firm, often short-term, deadlines and manage multiple projects.
    • Aptitude for applying financial accounting, corporate finance, business analysis, and report writing
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to handle and thrive with increased independence
