    Senior Product Controller (VP)

    Job Description
    The overall purpose of the job is the day to day management of the teams responsible for the production of various tasks within and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) Product Control desks including:

    • Accounting – posting to the general ledger accurate and timely information
    • Substantiation of balance sheet
    • Regulatory reporting alignment - ensuring the balance sheet is aligned to reports send to regulators
    • Data ownership – ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data going downstream to other infrastructure areas
    • Control environment – overseeing the control environment in which the business operates p&l review – understanding and providing commentary on the pnl.

    Specifics related to this role:

    • Candidate will be responsible for preparation of the monthly, quarterly & annual reports for regulatory disclosure and all internal reporting (Desk Head pack, Manco reporting and financials)
    • Candidate will supervise Capital and Regulatory returns
    • Ensure ETF passes both internal and external audits with no significant issues.
    • Candidate will look after ETF CIS and Commodities as legal entity and ensure all legal entity obligations; board packs, reporting etc are taken care of.
    • Candidate will be expected to present to Board
    • Ensure EFT’s is fully compliant for tax purposes
    • Candidate will supervise a team of 4 people

    In the process of production focus is needed on:

    • Escalation of significant issues reported.
    • Reporting and maintenance of senior relationships across the organization.
    • Control – continue to ensure than an effective control environment is maintained with their team and ensure managers are accountable.

    Education And Experience

    • CA (SA) with 5 years PQE or relevant degree/ Honors with 8+ year’s relevant experience.
    • Extensive management experience essential. (3-5 years)
    • Investment banking or Product control experience preferred.
    • Product specific knowledge preferred (e.g., Equities, rates, FICC)
    • Experience in creating and maintaining an effective control environment.

    • Identify stakeholder & communication dependencies / interdependencies & requirements in all application support processes & ensure these are followed prior to any application support implementation
    • Proactively identify any risks ahead of application support processes e.g. changes, optimization, maintenance, batch uploads etc.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge in application functionality, user workflow, and business processes to improve level of support provision on an ongoing basis
    • Develop sufficient knowledge of application infrastructure (server, network, security) to improve application support inputs
    • Compile and maintain inventory of applications and related details
    • Meet all SLA requirements associated with application support being provided

    Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist

    Job Summary
    We are looking for a results orientated individual with a solid understanding of talent sourcing channels, best practices and processes and the ability to influence stakeholders to join our Learning, Leadership and Talent team as the Senior Group Talent Acquisition Specialist.
    In this role you will drive sourcing and recruitment of executive and business critical talent across Absa; support the reporting, analysis and governance aspects related to the Talent Acquisition function along with supporting the development and execution of effective Absa employer branding strategies.
    Job Description

    • Support development and embedding of a differentiated, robust and consistent group-wide talent acquisition experience that utilizes best-in-class approaches and embodies Absa’s desired culture.
    • Drive talent acquisition MI reporting, analysis and insights generation to facilitate data-driven talent planning and decision making (Including periodic Quality of Hire analytics).
    • Contribute to internal and external research that positions Absa as a thought leader and employer of choice on talent attraction and acquisition Proactively build executive and business critical talent pipelines by assessing medium-long term executive and business critical talent gaps/opportunities and developing and implementing robust multi-channel sourcing strategies; including development of internal pipelines.
    • Build and sustain a robust and engaging network of active and passive candidates, including Absa alumni who were regretted leavers.
    • Implement Executive and Business Critical role hiring.
    • Provide talent sourcing Subject Matter Expertise and advisory services to business and key stakeholders.
    • Support development and implementation of an Absa Group talent brand proposition and strategies that position Absa as the employer of choice for internal and external top talent.
    • Support customisation of the Absa Group talent brand proposition to relevant business and corporate service areas.
    • Drive Absa Group employer branding digital and face-to-face campaigns and activities.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including business leaders, talent leaders, learning institutions, government bodies, industry bodies and talent forums.
    • Support building of Group and business sourcing and selection capabilities in proactively attracting and selecting the best talent for Absa’s cultural and capability requirements.
    • Support building of hiring manager capability in owning and executing the talent acquisition agenda as a personal and business priority.

    Education And Experience Required

    • Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7)

    Minimum:

    • At least 5 years’ sourcing experience using different methods, including advanced talent search techniques in a large organisation OR Group Level Centre of Expertise OR working as a Talent Acquisition Senior Specialist in a top consultancy
    • Experience sourcing executive candidates across more than one sector
    • Successful track record of developing niche talent sourcing strategies
    • Proven track record of co-developing and implementing successful employer branding activities
    • Strong reporting and data insights capability

    Advantage:

    • Pan-African talent sourcing experience
    • Financial industry experience

    Knowledge & Skills:
