    Group Employee Benefits & Funds Officer

    The coordination and provision of an effective and efficient central service operating as point of contact for the employer, employees, employees’ beneficiaries, as well as service providers for all employee benefits. This central service’s key responsibilities includes administration, receiving, coordinating, processing and settlement of employee benefits

    Employee Benefits and Funds Support

    • Provide assistance to the Group Employee Benefits Department with the appointment and management of service providers, including the on-going measurement of service levels and corrective actions
    • Develop a system to perform an efficient and accurate administrative function by maintaining files and records on the system, in consultation with the Group Employee Benefits and Funds Manager
    • In consultation with the Group Employee Benefits and Funds Manager, communicate with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely and complete information to support all Fund and benefit claims and ensure the correct, timely submission and validation of all benefit claims.
    • Promptly resolve of all stakeholder queries and requests in a competent, efficient and professional manner.
    • Develop mechanisms to monitor, measure and report on service delivery, internal and external, including stakeholder satisfaction.
    • Effective relationship building with all stakeholders.
    • Ensure the adherence to company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
    • Ensure the strictest confidentiality of all personal information

    Group Life Administration

    • Ensure adequate control of the submission and processing of employee Group Life claims by coordinating with the employer, service provider, insurer and employee beneficiaries.
    • Ensure that all necessary procedures and investigations are completed in terms of S37 of the Pension Funds Act
    • Prepare documentation and minutes of sub-committee meetings for review and approval by the Group Employee Benefits and Funds Manager
    • Develop mechanisms to monitor, measure and report on service delivery, internal and external, including stakeholder satisfaction
    • Monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting on Group Life Administration

    PHI Administration

    • Ensure adequate control of the submission and processing of employee GLA claims by coordinating with the employer, service provider and insurer.
    • Ensure correct and timely submission and validation of all disability benefit claims for the approval of the Group Employee Benefits and Funds Manager and Group Services Executive

    Ad Hoc Duties

    • Provide support and understudy the Group Employee Benefits Department and assistance on special projects, roll outs of new benefits, communication of benefits and presentations to both members and employees

    Requirements:

    Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience required for this position

    • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or an allied discipline
    • At least 2 years relevant experience in human resources and employee benefits
    • A good understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation
    • Retirement Fund knowledge and aligned risk benefit’s will be advantageous
    • Previous experience in all areas of employee benefits and administration will be advantageous
