Update of payroll by reviewing and processing all earnings and deduction types.
Determines payroll liabilities by reviewing the calculation of Associate income for PAYE, Unemployment insurance, skills development and workman’s compensation for declaration and payment each month/annum.
Responsible for full engagement system cycle for each new appointment.
Update payroll records with changes to Associates statuses which include promotions, demotions and division transfers from SuccessFactors.
Full termination system cycle for Associates and control of correlating checklist as per event reason.
Complies with local legislation by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Approval of leave applications on Sage ESS and import to Jarrison Time.
Monthly audit of time and attendance which includes late arrivals, early departures and time out of work area.
Monthly reconciliation of provident fund, payment thereof and general administration i.e. movement, death claims and withdrawals etc.
Monthly reconciliation of medical aid, payment thereof and general administration.
Mid-year and annual tax year reconciliation and issue IRP5 / IT3 certificates to Associates.
Manage personnel files for B3 and B2 management and specialist Associates
Monthly statistical reporting
Feedback on all HRIS, Payroll and Reward system and other information requests.
Generate journal from payroll after salaries have been concluded and balance the payroll accounts by resolving discrepancies.
Daily maintenance, update and development of HRIS systems which include Jarrison Time, Sage 300 People and SuccessFactors ensuring that these correlate at all times in order to provide real time information to relevant stake holders.
This will allow for accurate:
Annual Employment Equity reporting
Annual Workplace Skills reporting
Calculation of the BBBEE score
Data submission for participation in the Mercer survey
Member of the Compensation committee, responsible for comparing current job classification with Mercer survey results and reporting on compensation discrepancies.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
Maintains Associate confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to the HR department by accomplishing related results as needed.
Experience and Education
Accounting Diploma or Degree
Experience in Sage 300 People
A minimum of 7 years’ experience managing the full payroll function for an organization with +700 staff.
Strong understanding of employment tax law.
Competent in Success Factors Associate Central
Competent in full MS Office suite
Able to handle multiple assignments concurrently, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, and able to function in a fast-paced environment. Proactive individual with ability to anticipate, initiate and prioritize.
Ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, exercise initiative and judgment and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
The ability to maintain focus on assigned tasks in spite of constant interruptions by telephone and personal contact.
