Golder has a new opportunity for a Hydrogeologist to join our Mine Water Team, full-time based in Midrand. This is a junior to mid-level Hydrogeologist position reporting to the Groundwater group lead and is based in our Waterfall office, Midrand. The successful applicant is expected to work closely with a team of junior hydrogeologists, hydrologists, and geochemists as well as interacting with senior members from our Mine Water, Environment and Waste Business Units.

Key Duties And Responsibilities Will Include

• Setting a positive example by identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents.

• Displays a ‘safety first’ focus.

• Develop proposals for small to medium complexity projects: hydrogeology, field work programmes, contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater, and surface water monitoring, etc.

• Plan, manage and/or execute small-medium complexity projects or tasks

• Interpretation of various hydrogeological data including geophysical survey data, pump testing data, groundwater surveys data, monitoring data, etc.

• Develop conceptual site models

• Technical report writing

• Client interaction

• Mentoring and technical development of junior colleagues

• Comply and apply all Golder quality systems and ensure review process at all levels

• Participate in the Golder Technical Community within projects or other forums such as teleconferences and web sites

• Liaise with specialists from other disciplines or offices within Golder

Qualifications And Expertise

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Hydrogeology or Geology

• MSc degree would be an advantage

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the consulting environment

• Experience in practical hydrogeology

• Experience in execution and interpretation of geophysical surveys

• Experience in execution and reporting of drilling and testing supervision

• Solid report writing skills

• MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook

• Valid Driver’s Licence
