Information Technology Service Delivery Manager at VAS-X (Pty) Ltd

The Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of software solutions and applications, manage all development and support related aspects of the environment and associated staff 

Competencies

• Grade 12
• Normal literacy – English: read, write and speak. 
• IT Diploma/B-Com IT /B-Tech 
• Attended courses on Java 
• Attended a course on IP value added services creation 
• Completed Java programming training course 
• 5 years minimum proven industry related experience. 

Minimum Industry Experience

• 10+ years successful track record in Telecommunications services, service delivery management and Project Management. 
• Min 5 year’s management experience. 
• 2 Years’ experience in System Architecture 
• Working knowledge of telecommunications equipment/systems. 
• Knowledge on Integration 

Requiremenets and Training

• Java Development Resource 
• In depth Java knowledge including Spring, CAMEL and associated technologies 
• Knowledge of telecommunication network architecture, interfaces and protocols e.g. USSD, SMPP, CCS#7 (INAP, CAMEL etc), DIAMETER (AAA) 
• Working knowledge of operating systems including Linux. 
• In depth knowledge of SQL and industry standard databases. 
• A thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle 
• Experience in Scrum/Agile methodologies 
• OO Analysis design and programming techniques 
• Expertise with various frameworks 
• Understanding of best practice methodologies/standards such as ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF, ISO 9001 etc 
• Knowledge of and experience with Atlassian suite of products

  • Confluence 
• Understanding of DevOps culture and CI/CD pipeline tools and automation processes 
• Knowledge and understanding of best of breed open source stacks and associated applications/tools o Kubernetes 
• Strong problem-solving skills and accurate forecasting of effort required and closing timeframe.
