    Infrastructure Lead (Oil & Gas)

    About the job


    Main Purpose:

    • Oil & Gas Infrastructure specialist who is responsible for advising the Operations team and Trading Desk with respect to the suitability, capital expenditure, operational integrity, HSE assurance, technical compliance and efficiency of existing & new trade logistics Infrastructures’ in relation to Oil Operations.
    • The individual needs to have demonstrated experience in fundamentally understanding the symbiotic relationship between the technical, HSE, regulatory and financial aspects, and how best to maximise the Traders/Business PnL across the entire oil/gas supply chain or trading activities from a technical standpoint.
    • The Trading Desk & Operations team shall rely upon the individual to provide technical solutions for commercial requirements of the Oil & Gas desk.
    • It is imperative that the individual is motivated to travel to different countries alongside physical traders to help identify and maximise opportunities for the company.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

    • Advise the Operations Team on technical operational issues & business decisions for new/existing infrastructure assets
    • Advise the Oil & Gas trading desks of the Trafigura Group on the feasibility of utilizing existing infrastructure to compliment the physical delivery of cargoes.
    • Strategic planning, management and resource allocation in relation to day-to-day operational projects
    • Establishing operational processes / process improvement for existing operations to meet budget, financial, & HSE Targets, and minimize risk across the supply chain/operations
    • Review infrastructure components when entering new markets/new trade deals/Mergers & Acquisitions
    • Conceptualise infrastructure projects (technical and financial feasibility) to compliment the value-add when conducting physical oil trading to potential new customers/markets
    • Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on operations management
    • Select & use fit for purpose project management methods to manage the project lifecycle
    • Participate and contribute to the development of the business strategy & translate the strategy into actionable operational/ project plans for execution.
    • Demonstrating entrepreneurial & business development acumen to engage senior management/stakeholders on infrastructure/technical aspects.
    • Provide strategic guidance and support to Group Affiliates ( and project management teams in terms of infrastructure project execution, management, technical, financial, contractual and strategic aspects. Support the M&A team of Puma and Trafigura group for Infrastructure transactions. Support the Engineering team on project management.

    SKILLS

    • Full EPC Engineering Expertise across all engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Process, etc. on major projects with min. 150M USD budget)
    • Marine infrastructure experience (Quay walls, CBM, SPM, Offshore Pipelines)
    • Aviation Experience (New Facilities, Existing Facilities, Jet A1 Fuel Hydrants)
    • EPC Contractual Management experience for minimum threshold of 150-200M USD
    • (technical, financial & commercial)
    • Maximising the P&L of the trading activities/new business on a techno-commercial basis
    • Extremely strong communication skills
    • Self-initiated, passionate operational leader
    • Ability to lead, plan and manage change
    • Competence to anticipate operational roadblocks and avoid them
